Duties and Responsibilities

 

Summary:

The Tour Pusher is primarily responsible for the oversight of the night shift drilling operation including but not limited to working closely with the Driller to ensure the rig and crew members are performing safely and efficiently, supporting the Rig Manger to stay compliant with all necessary rig reports and paperwork, and maintaining a professional working relationship with our clients by meeting their needs while upholding Falcon company policies and procedures. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and execute drilling operations in accordance with company, operator, policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment, tools, operations, performance, and lead and support the night shift crew.
  • Responsible for limited aspects of the employment life cycle including but not limited to employee development, employee coaching, and delivery of corrective actions.
  • Assist the Rig Manager to ensure that equipment inspections and HSE programs are up to date and compliant as per company standard.
  • Assist the Rig Manager in completing maintenance tasking, maintenance trackers, work orders, and equipment PM’s and services.
  • Ensure rig crews are active in HSE programs including but not limited to hazard identification program, emergency response drills, and safety inspections.
  • Communicate with clients as needed while always keeping a professional working relationship. 
  • Support Rig Manager with the material requisition process by building material requests, reviewing open PO reports, receiving PO’s, and verifying received items.
  • Will perform Driller roles and responsibilities when needed.
  • Primarily responsible for the supervision of night operations, however, may need to assist Rig Manager during the day shift operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all Falcon Drilling operations, policies & procedures, personnel, and assets.

Daily Expectations:

  • Must be involved in any Falcon designated “Critical Operations” such as, but not limited to, nipple up of well control equipment, make up or break down of BHA, well control operations, etc.
  • Inspect equipment for deficiencies, needed maintenance, abnormalities, etc.
  • Be actively involved in safety meetings, JSA meetings, and rig inspections.
  • Prepare morning reports for the Rig Manager to send to morningreports@falcondrilling.com by utilizing Falcon’s template for email updates and including the drillers log and HSE meeting report.
  • Proactively and effectively communicate with Rig Manager of any issues with safety, personnel, equipment, operations, client relations, and/or procurement.
  • Train employees to meet company standards.
  • Abide by company policies and procedures.
  • Hold personnel accountable for their action.

Financial Commitment:

  • Company Fuel Cards are to be used solely for fueling vehicles directly involved in Company activity- no fuel is to be purchased for other equipment/assets other than assigned vehicle nor for personal reasons.
  • Company Credit Cards are to be used solely for purchasing items for Company use- purchase limits are to be respected and honored.
  • No financial commitment to vendors and/or Operators allowed without written approval from Upper Management.

 

 

Personnel Responsibilities:

  • Draft corrective action forms.  Supervisor to review before discussing with employees.
  • Assist Rig Manager by completing SSE evaluations for those under your supervision.
  • Exploit opportunities for coaching.
  • Must notify Rig Manager of any NPT event greater than 15 minutes in length.
  • Must notify Rig Manager of any hole issues/stuck pipe events at the time of the event.
  • Must notify Rig Manager of any property damage, injury/illness immediately.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Valid Driver’s License and meet the requirements of the Falcon Drilling Motor Vehicle Policy
  • High school education or equivalent, or as deemed sufficient by Management.
  • 3-5 years previous drilling rig experience with at least 6 months experience
    as an Assistant Driller or equivalent experience deemed sufficient by management.
  • Supervisory certification in Well Control/IADC certificate
  • Well Control ADC certificate.
  • BOP Certified
  • First Aid and CPR certified
  • Working Knowledge of air compressors and boosters used for air drilling
  • Working Knowledge of mud pumps used for fluid drilling.

     

Work Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform work outside with prolonged exposure to the environment, both hot and cold. Operations could also involve prolonged exposure to wet or damp conditions i.e., working in rain, snow and sleet.
  • 12-13 hours/day, 14 days on/ 14 days off rotation
  • Vigorous manual labor required
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment up to 80 pounds frequently
  • Long periods of standing, squatting, kneeling, reaching or similar activities may be necessary in tight spaces as well as elevated heights.
