About the job: Family Centered Services is hiring for a Housekeeper/Janitor to perform all routine and deep-cleaning functions to ensure that the facility remains safe and sanitary.
Schedule: This is a Full Time position scheduled Monday-Friday. Shift hours 4pm- 12am shift hours are flexible and availability can be discussed during the interview process.
Pay/Salary Range: The range listed is not limited and will be adjusted based on your experience and/or education related to the field.
Summary of Assigned Tasks:
- Demonstrates proper care, use and storage of chemicals for cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting.
- Demonstrates ability for emptying all trash receptacles and proper disposal.
- Demonstrates ability to refill all dispensers including paper towel, soap, napkins, and tissues.
- Demonstrates ability to spot clean walls, doors and partitions.
- Demonstrates ability operate and maintain vacuum sweeper.
- Demonstrates ability to wet mop hard surface floors.
- Demonstrates ability to wash floor without use of mechanical equipment.
- Demonstrates ability to scrub, wax, and buff hard surface floors with the use of mechanical equipment designed for such.
- Demonstrates ability to sweep and dry dust mop hard surface floors.
- Demonstrates ability to wipe counters, stoves, refrigerators, and other appliances.
- Demonstrates ability to sanitize sink and fixtures.
- Demonstrates the ability to inventory, order and restock chemical and paper supplies.
- Demonstrates ability to clean windows and mirrors.
- Demonstrates the ability to straighten and arrange furniture in an attractive fashion.
- Demonstrates ability to turn out lights and secure offices and building by locking doors as indicated.
- Demonstrates ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability of procedure to report damage and repairs to maintenance department.
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability of disposing hazardous waste material.
- Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping/janitorial priority within the facility.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to provide proper ventilation in caustic areas.
- Demonstrates ability to ensure least possible disruption of office routine.
- Demonstrates a professional appearance and attitude.
- Inform supervisor of unusual or unordinary occurrences/findings for further review.
Qualifications:
- Must be in the state of Alaska -local area, All candidates out of state will not be considered.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience and/or training in housekeeping duties and/or janitorial services. Basic abilities, knowledge and experience necessary to perform duties.

- Must be able to pass both name and federal Background Check conducted with the Alaska Background Check program which shows a record that is free from criminal convictions, which in judgement for FCSA, would adversely affect their ability to work safely around children.
