We are seeking relationship focused people to be Family Support Specialists in the Healthy Families America program which is a nationally recognized Evidence-Based Practice.Family Support Specialists provide education, coaching, and support to prenatal and parenting families with children up to age three. The HFA model provides best practice support/techniques with regular skilled reflective supervision and coaching. Through community-based home visiting, Family Support Specialists, impact parent/child interactions - optimizing social-emotional and physical development of children while working in partnership with schools, state agencies, medical providers, and other social service agencies.
Minimum Requirements: - BS or BA degree with 1 to 2 years of home visiting, infant/toddler development, and/or parenting education experience preferred.
- Equivalent experience and/or new grads will be considered with the right candidate.
- High Attention to detail with the ability to complete paperwork accurately, timely and effectively
- Excellent verbal, written and face-to-face communication skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic to vulnerable families and individuals
- Passionate to coach, help, mentor and support struggling new families
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check with no history of abuse, neglect or exploitation
- Valid Driver's License with Auto Insurance that meets the requited liability minimum coverage of $50,000/$100,000
Abilities Needed: - Ability to respect clients from a variety of backgrounds and situations.
- Ability to keep good records and write treatment plans.
- Ability to manage complex cases.
- Ability to travel within the state to provide home visits with possible transportation of clients and/or family to and from.
- Ability to collaborate with peers, Leadership and the Team for Program changes or case related client care.
- Be flexible with schedule to meet family's needs.
