Job Summary
The Golf Course Equipment Technician is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of all Golf Course and Grounds Maintenance equipment, as well as various power equipment used in the other departments around the Club. The Technician should be able to diagnose and repair minor equipment issues with limited supervision, as well as assist with major diagnosis and repairs when necessary. The Technician will assist the Equipment Manager in all aspects of maintaining Farmington’s equipment fleet.

The Technician should be able to diagnose and repair minor equipment issues with limited supervision, as well as assist with major diagnosis and repairs when necessary. The Technician will assist the Equipment Manager in all aspects of maintaining Farmington’s equipment fleet.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining an organized, clean and safe work area.
- Monitor parts room inventory and report parts supply/usage to the equipment manager.
- Perform routine maintenance like changing oil, replace filters, lubricate machinery, and sharpen mower blades.
- Inspect and make basic repairs to all golf course and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot malfunctions to minimize down time.
- Instruct operators on safety, use, and servicing of all power equipment.
- Perform daily checks of reel mowers to ensure cut quality.
- Communicate equipment repair/service needs with equipment manager, golf course superintendents, and grounds superintendent to ensure smooth scheduling and efficient daily operation of the maintenance facilities.
- Occasionally assist with golf course or grounds maintenance duties (mowing, aerifying, operating equipment, etc.) when necessary, as directed by the equipment manager.
- Assist with inclement weather response by plowing snow on the roadways and parking lots around the Club, as well as occasional snow shoveling.
- Valid Virginia driver’s license
- Minimum of two years of experience in mechanic work
- A self-starting, team-oriented attitude
