Faulkner University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Head Football Coach. The primary role of this individual is to establish and execute a team philosophy centered on growing young men spiritually, physically, mentally, and academically. This involves the hiring and training of right-fit assistant coaches; directing the general operation of the program; and providing clear strategies and procedures for the recruitment and retention of student athletes. Faulkner University is an NAIA Division I member, and is competing in the Mid-South Conference. Faulkner University is a Christian university associated with churches of Christ.
This is a full-time, (40 hours per week), 10-month position.
Summary of Duties:
- Ensure program compliance with NAIA, Mid-South Conference, University and Athletic Department rules, policies, and procedures
- Develop and oversee yearly budget for program; collaborate in setting annual recruitment goals and scholarships
- Provide training, direction and encouragement to prepare athletes for games and competitive events
- Recruit and retain high quality athletes with high moral character
- Foster an environment of excellence for the coaching team and players; provide ongoing feedback and evaluation
- Cultivate and preserve positive relationships with high schools and other institutions
- Establish and maintain good order and direction within the program that reflects Christian values and principles
- Develop, execute and sustain community service opportunities and partnerships
- Support, participant, and guide team participation in campus community events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of five years experience as a head or assistant football coach preferred
- Coaching experience at the college level preferred
- Frequent evening/weekend hours and travel
- Active member of the church of Christ
