Shift Operations Manager Frozen Food Express is looking for a Shift Operations Manager for our Burlington, NJ location.
Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the proper execution of the dock operations for the assigned shift, ensuring that productivity levels are met and that our customer's freight is handled timely, efficiently, and claims free in the most economical fashion.
- Directly supervise assigned dockworkers and yard employees to include adherence to company policy, performance counseling and reviews up to and including administering disciplinary action and recommendations for promotion, transfer or termination.
- Train new Dockworkers and Yard Hostlers.
- Use discretion to plan staffing for shift and assign work based upon work load / projected arrival times and make adjustments to loads as needed or required.
- Inspect and manage all material handling equipment.
- Direct clerical staff on document preparation.
- Conduct daily, pre-shift safety communication meetings.
- Conduct daily yard inventory to include trailer, seal, and temperature checks.
- Unloading, storing, staging, checking, tagging, handling, and loading of freight between the warehouse and inbound and outbound trailers.
- Monitor temperature environment of the warehouse, the cleanliness of dock and warehouse, proper functionality of doors, dock plates and material handling equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
