What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Assistant IV position at Field Museum?

The Field Museum is hiring a part-time, limited term (up to 6 month) research assistant position to conduct snake systematics research, under the supervision of the Associate Curator of Herpetology. This position is focused on analyzing morphological and genetic datasets from a variety of snakes, and publishing empirical scientific research. The hire is expected, with direction and collaboration of the curator, to lead the research efforts and publications. This work is to include species descriptions, genetic/phylogenetic analyses, and preparing and submitting manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. The hire may be asked to participate in outreach and similar events related to their research expertise or general herpetology. The hire may be asked to present their work at scientific conferences. The hire is expected to be well-organized and keep excellent notes on their work as it progresses.
Minimum Education: The position requires a PhD by the start date
Minimum Experience: The hire must have demonstrated experience with snake morphology and phylogenetic methods (i.e., first author publications on these and/or similar topics).
