Forklift Driver Position Summary:
The material handler position is required to maintain computerized records of inventory and follow proper ordering procedures to maintain inventory levels as established. Moves freight, stock, or other materials. Backup Operator & Process technician as needed to meet/exceed production goals.
Forklift Driver Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep Safety in mind at all times
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments, material, and equipment needs.
- Fill orders given to him/her by the different departments.
- Move freight, stock, and other materials by hand or using hand trucks, forklifts, and lift trucks to and from the storage and production area.
- Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
- Accurately maintains computer records of all materials received and consumed on a daily basis.
- Conduct frequent partial physical audits to verify accuracy of computer records; conduct a complete physical inventory count annually.
- Break and shift coverage for operators and process technicians
- Support Machine Operator and trimmer as needed to ensure we meet/exceed goals daily
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Will adhere to all FIMCO policies related to employee performance requirements
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Forklift Driver Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
- Warehouse and/or manufacturing experience
- 1 years of forklift experience and ability to operate hand trucks and lift trucks
- Proficient computer skills/experience with computerized inventory systems
- Basic knowledge of inventory control procedures
Forklift Driver Other Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of inventory control procedures.
- Proficiency in computer skills and experience with computerized inventory systems.
- Ability to operate hand trucks, forklifts, and lift trucks.
