Job Summary: The Assistant Construction Coordinator will help the Construction Coordinator oversee all aspects of Firelands Habitat’s construction program in a way that utilizes volunteer labor for new home construction, rehabs, and repairs of Habitat houses. Produces quality, energy efficient homes for low-income families in a safe, affordable manner supporting the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 1 years’ experience in house construction and project management.
· Must have a valid driver’s license, maintain OSHA’s Competent Person certification, and pass a criminal background check, sex offender registry and drug screen.
· Computer literacy necessary, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and AutoCAD preferred.
- Good management and organizational skills, ability to maintain accurate records, complete projects on schedule while following Habitat and OSHA safety guidelines.
- Must have physical ability to perform all construction tasks, lift 50lbs. or more and work in all weather conditions.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
· Assist Construction Coordinator in overseeing the entire building process, including project budget, permits, schedules, material procurement, and physical construction.
· Responsible for coordinating repairs to homes under 1-year warranty.
· Responsible for coordinating home repairs and maintenance as assigned.
· Must be able to work with a diverse group of volunteers with various skill levels.
· Oversees maintenance and safeguards of all equipment, tools, vehicles, and construction shop.
· Oversees design of Women Build Raffle Shed
· Organizes delivery and pick-up of Women Build Raffle Shed to and from festivals.
· Oversees monthly inventory count.
· Other duties as assigned.
Secondary Responsibilities & Duties:
· Assists in coordinating with architect, surveyor, excavators, and other subs to prepare sites as assigned.
· Attends and works with Construction Committee for planning, guidance, and direction.
· Assist in providing safety training, job site safety, and following Habitat and OSHA regulations.
· Reports any accidents or safety incidents immediately to the Construction Coordinator and Executive Director and files appropriate forms.
· Assists in ensuring work meets FHFH and current building standards and deadlines.
· Must be families with the mission of Habitat and follow Board Policies as well as employee manual.
· Attends Staff and Board Meetings as requested.
- Ensure that all volunteers and partner families have signed in and out and completed their Volunteer Application and Liability Waiver forms.
- Other duties as assigned.
