TELLER I
DEPARTMENT: Retail
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager
SUPERVISES: None
POSITION SUMMARY:
Processes all phases of teller operations by conducting financial and other transactions for new and existing customers in a professional, courteous and timely manner according to bank procedures. This position requires extensive customer interaction, and a broad knowledge of all bank products and general operations. Provides exceptional customer service in response to customer needs and requests.
DUTIES:

Processing customer transactions; such as, cashing checks, handling deposits, withdrawals, money orders, and cashier's checks.

Balance cash within teller drawer daily; pull and check teller balances daily.

Manage and resolve all customer requests for updates, inquiries and any problems either in person or over the phone.

Help to maintain monetary instruments and large currency logs.

Process cash advances; spring/fall property taxes; and wire transfers as needed.

Processing/Ordering checks and all related products for customers.

Completion of educational assignments.

Compliance with all branch security policies, including but not limited to, proper branch opening and closing.

Participation in all branch huddles and meetings.

Responsible for asking questions to determine customer’s potential financial needs and referring them to the appropriate individual.

Provide back-up support for the vault.

Participate in any sales activities as directed by the Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager.

Perform other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Responsible to the Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager for the fulfillment of duties assigned.

Skills needed include strong cash handling abilities, knowledge of appropriate government regulations, bank products and operations.

Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality in daily operations and interactions with customers.
- Must have the ability to accurately process transactions and work effectively in a team setting.
- At least one year of cash handling experience preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office environment.

Extended viewing of computer screens.

Moderate lifting up to 25 pounds.

Repetitive hand and arm movement.

Environment may necessitate excessive standing.
