Job Summary
As a member of the front-line staff, a teller is expected to have adequate banking knowledge to answer basic questions for customers, process customer transactions and provide prompt, courteous and efficient customer service within established guidelines as well as provide support to other staff members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer phone calls
- Provide account information to customers via phone, by mail or in person
- Process savings/checking account deposits and withdrawals
- Conduct Customer Research Requests
- Cash Checks
- Balance their respective teller drawer
- Buy and sell money
- Cash out CD’s
- Process Cash Advances
- Process Coin through coin machine
- Fill out CTR’s
- Process Customer Stop Payments
- Process Customer Telephone Transfers
- Process Check Reorders
- Process Safe Deposit Box Payments
- Sell & Prepare Cashier’s Checks and Money Orders
- Wrap coin
- Cash in Savings Bonds
- Assist customers with Safe Deposit Boxes
- Assist customers with online/mobile banking
- Handle Customer Complaints
- Daily verification of savings and GL entries
- Sell various tickets for community events
- Sell Pre-paid cards
- Stuff and mail customer statements in a timely manner
- Order debit cards & checks for customers
- Trouble shoot debit card issues
- Process affidavits for lost documents
- Maintain and balance cash in the ATM (dual control)
- Assist Coworkers as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Expectations
- Performs job accountabilities with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of the policies of First National Bank of Gilbert. At all times, performs in a manner that meets these expectations.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of Internal Service Standards for the department and departments that are a part of the workflow for this position.
- Provides open communication to supervisor or manager when Service Standards cannot be met due to training needs, equipment problems, quality of work received from others.
- Upholds the employment guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Develops and maintains knowledge of compliance and internal control requirements necessary to complete the job.
- Performs duties in compliance with policy, procedure and process.
Skills and Physical Requirements
- Travel to trade and industry schools and seminars
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to type, carry, handle and feel objects; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Windows products
- Team orientation and the ability to adapt in a fun, fast-paced environment
- Self-motivation, good organization skills, and excellent communication and phone skills
- The ability to read and interpret documentation such as operating and procedure manuals
