GENERAL SUMMARY
Incumbent is the principle point of contact for managing the church facility use, office administration, support staff, and performing all accounting functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Works with pastors, staff and church leadership to promote a collaborative environment to support the programs and goals of the church
· In consultation with the Head of Staff, directs and supervises activities of support personnel; determines work priorities, schedules work assignments and recommends associated personnel actions
· Maintains employee personnel records for each staff member
· Schedules support staff vacations and leave to ensure sufficient office coverage during business hours and as needed for church meetings and events
· Manages all accounts receivable and payable processes for the Church
· Records and deposits all monies received by the Church
· Maintains contribution records and generates quarterly/annual statements
· Provides monthly statements to the Session, councils and programs of the Church
· Coordinates with payroll vendor to process Church employee payroll
· Ensures proper record retention and destruction
· Completes other duties as assigned by Head of Staff or designee
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Technical Expertise: PC skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
· Ability to learn and become proficient with church management software
· Oral Communication: Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills are necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
· 7-10 years of administrative management or operations management, to include personnel management. 7-10 years fund and not-for-profit accounting experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Work Period: Work period per week not to exceed 40 hours unless otherwise assigned by the Pastor. Hours will be 8:30am-4:30pm with one (1) paid lunch break.
· Internal: Work is normally performed in a climate controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment. No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.
· External: Occasionally work is performed where there is exposure to outside atmospheric conditions of heat/cold or moisture and exposure to weather
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most duties are performed from a seated position. Work may include occasional pushing, pulling or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds such as files and copy paper.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS
· Internal: Church visitors, members, Pastor and other staff members
· External: General public and vendors
EVALUATION:
Receives an annual evaluation of performance in work position from the Pastor/Head of Staff. A review of compensation will be held on a calendar year basis by the Personnel Committee acting on behalf of the Session.
COMPENSATION
· Starting Salary: Commensurate with Experience ($52,000 )
· Health Insurance Medical: 80% paid by employer 20% by employee
· Health Insurance Dental and Vision: Voluntary at employee expense
· Personal Time Off: 20 PTO days first year accrued at 1.67 days monthly
