- Responsible for the quality control and system review of all commercial, residential and consumer loan documents, ensuring with accuracy that all loans are processed and documented in accordance with Bank Policy and secondary market requirements where applicable.
- Specific Job Functions:
- Possesses a high level of knowledge of regulations related to commercial and consumer lending documentation requirements, utilizing internal and external training resources to maintain that knowledge and to keep up with any regulatory, legal or policy changes as they occur
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with all laws, regulations, Bank policy and procedures pertaining to job function
- Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of the Bank’s loan processing and document imaging/content management systems
- Conducts post-closing Quality Control reviews of a selection of new, renewed, modified and extended loans for correct and complete loan documentation; proper lien perfection, credit approval as required per Bank policy; and compliance with government regulations and Bank policies
- Identifies and tracks errors during Quality Control reviews and follow up with loan officers or other team members to ensure that acceptable corrections are made to satisfy documentation and compliance requirements
- Maintains a report of Quality Control findings, which is provided to the Bank’s Board of Directors quarterly and is available for review by Internal and External Audit or other third-party reviews, if applicable
- Assists in the investigation and resolution of any Quality Control findings or loan documentation discrepancies promptly and efficiently
- Assists in the preparation of month-end loan and exception reports and other reports as assigned
- Carry out such other duties as may be assigned or requested
- Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Detail-oriented with effective and accurate review skills
- Good computer skills with working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing programs
- A working knowledge of loan systems and documentation review
- Ability to resolve problems
- A working knowledge of loan products, as well as familiarity with the related policies and guidelines
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills necessary to address issues and solve problems in a positive manner while working with other departments and fellow team members
- Ability to conduct audits and detailed reviews of loan documentation accurately
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures, work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a manner consistent with Bank policy
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Capable of multi-tasking with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
