Description
Position Purpose:
Directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the Human Resources function.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
- Partner with Benefit Administrators including health, 401k, dental and life, as well as HRIS and TPA vendors to facilitate smooth enrollment and ongoing administration.
- Research, develop, write, and update policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicate and enforce organization values.
- Partner with managers to ensure consistent application of the bank’s progressive discipline policy and guide them through managing employee issues.
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business strategy.
- Oversee recruitment efforts and onboarding process for all exempt and nonexempt roles.
- Develop and maintain affirmative action program.
- Create and maintain Management/Leadership Development Training Program for managers and potential managers.
- Implement and annually update compensation program; as necessary, conducts annual salary surveys and develop merit pool (salary budget); analyze compensation; monitor the performance evaluation program and revise as necessary.
- Maintain the organizational structure by ensuring job requirements and job descriptions are continually reviewed and revised.
- Assess training needs and source solutions to meet those needs while monitoring current training programs.
- Support the employee recognition program and contribute to its success.
- Manage Human Resources annual department budget.
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
- Complete regulatory compliance training and other types of training as assigned.
- Represent Firstar Bank in a professional manner through involvement with community events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Experience and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with five (5) years’ Human Resources experience or nine (9) years’ experience in the Human Resources field.
- HR Certification strongly preferred: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP.
- Prior experience working with Human Resources Information Systems required.
Physical Requirements:
- Typically requires the ability to ascend and descend stairs, ability to perform stooping, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 25 pounds, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. May be required to work some evenings and/or weekends as necessary.
