Job Summary: The Commercial Lender will maintain and generate quality commercial, agricultural, and consumer loans all while ensuring bank customer satisfaction.
Education/Experience: A minimum of the following education/experience is required:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business and a minimum of 4 years' experience in a lending or credit type of field.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Interviews applicants to determine loan requirements and gathers pertinent information for loan applications.
- Analyzes applicant’s financial status, credit, and asset evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan, establishes credit limit through written and/or oral assessment.
- Resolves uncertainties relating to customer application information through inquiries with applicant or creditors.
- Structure loans within loan policy. Approves loan within specified limits or champions loan opportunities for proper approval.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with customers, bank staff, local professionals, centers of influence, and community organizations.
- Participates in community and professional organizations and events.
- Manage loan portfolio including renewals, modifications, updated credit analysis, collections, and portfolio monitoring.
- Maintains and/or generates a loan portfolio with a mixture of loans that represent the local market.
- Coordinates the Banking needs for customers and cross sells bank products.
- Maintains credit quality in loan portfolio via monitoring credit files and borrowers.
- Serves as an Officer of the Bank when dealing with customers and potential customers.
- Develops new business.
- Manages past due loan accounts, overdrafts, and exceptions.
- Participates in an on-going comprehensive training program to maintain awareness of compliance regulations; complies with operating controls and procedures; accountable for compliance with applicable consumer laws and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
