Admissions Officer

Reporting to the Senior Director of Enrollment Management & Administration, the Admissions Officer is responsible for recruiting and matriculating qualified candidates for the College’s Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS). The Admissions Officer must provide excellent customer service and support to entire student body, positively affecting retention and enrollment.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Execute a best-practice customer service approach and collaborate with colleagues to ensure full life cycle management of each lead and prospective student, which may include graduate, undergraduate, non-degree seeking programs, as well as former students re-entering the college.
  2. Initiate, generate and update student files and electronic records.
  3. Monitor lead activity to provide timely response to individual inquiries and initiate proactive outreach to prospective students, develop and implement effective personal strategies for sales and pipeline management.
  4. Participate in on- and off-campus recruitment and yield events; represent GPS, promote its programs, and actively engage prospects at fairs, conferences, school visits, and other off-campus events; conduct office appointments, info sessions, webinars, and other on-campus activities.
  5. Work closely with other Admissions Officers to develop an understanding of programs, prerequisites, admissions criteria, and related trends, demonstrate and reflect an understanding of and commitment to Fisher College’s mission and core values.
  6. Advise prospective students on program offerings and requirements, admission standards and procedures, and the Fisher GPS student experience using a customer-focused approach.
  7. Participate in the evaluation of applicants based on a portfolio of educational, professional, and personal experience evidenced by submitted materials, interviews, and interactions to make recommendations regarding admission, scholarship awards, and credit evaluation
  8. Support the Senior Director of Enrollment Mgt and Administration and other Fisher GPS team in aggressively and proactively monitoring pipeline activities and progress toward targets; contribute ideas and efforts for enhancing marketing, recruitment, and yield activities.
  9. Assist in the development and updating of the GPS Admissions Policy and Procedure Manual.
  10. Other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Director of Enrollment Mgt and Administration. 


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2 years of professional sales or customer service, college admissions experience a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to exercise sound judgement in a fast-paced student-facing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to write and speak professionally and persuasively and to engage diverse audiences through both group presentations and individual consultations; fluency in English.
  • Must be comfortable communicating synchronously via various virtual meeting platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted United States driver’s license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Fisher’s insurance carrier.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Some travel required to support outreach and recruitment efforts.
