Job Title: Housing Case Manager
Location: Finger Lakes Region, NY

Job Summary:

FLACRA is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Housing Case Manager to assist program participants in securing and maintaining stable housing while helping them achieve financial independence. This role involves providing case management, vocational counseling, and support to clients as they work towards housing stability. The Housing Case Manager plays a key role in guiding participants through the housing process, building relationships with landlords, and ensuring compliance with housing regulations.

Must-Have Qualifications & Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.
• At least one year of experience in vocational counseling.
• Experience working in a behavioral healthcare setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Ability to remain composed and professional in challenging situations.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree or higher in Health or Human Services.
• 2 years of experience working in Behavioral Health.
• Experience in crisis management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently manage a caseload and provide case management services to participants.
• Manage housing screening and waiting lists, ensuring timely placements.
• Prepare and train clients in the process of securing and maintaining their own housing.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with area landlords, including direct contact and negotiation of rental agreements.
• Assist participants in securing funding sources and collect their share of rent payments.
• Maintain comprehensive case management files, including eligibility verification, income and rent calculations, and documentation of client progress.
• Conduct monthly one-on-one appointments with clients and perform inspections of residences.
• Develop and sustain positive and effective relationships with community groups, referral sources, and service agencies.
• Exhibit strong teamwork, flexibility, and cooperation with coworkers and supervisors.
• Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner, in compliance with agency, OASAS, and housing regulations.
• Provide high-quality service to clients, treating them with respect and dignity, and representing FLACRA with professionalism.
• Participate actively in staff meetings, in-service trainings, and supervision sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.28 per hour
