Qualifications
  • Candidate must have minimum of 2 years industrial repair experience
  • Local travel to customer facilities and ability to drive shop van to pick up parts from local suppliers is needed, so reliable transportation and good driving record are required
  • Knowledge of basic safety requirements with hand and power tools, lift equipment and ladders
  • Willing and able to work at heights of up to 35 feet to repair building light fixtures, bulbs and ballasts
  • Attention to detail, flexible in demeanor, listens to supervision, desiring to grow in job knowledge and productivity
  • Knowledge of basic shop arithmetic and knowledge of the metric system
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows based PC operation, MS Office programs including MS Word and MS Excel
  • Basic PLC troubleshooting experience would be helpful
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic and electrical documentation
  • Be a US or Naturalized Citizen and hold a valid CA driver's license
  • Passing pre-employment background and credit report checks are required for employment
  • An additional MANDATORY customer required criminal background check is required for employment
  • Department of Homeland Security E-Verify check is required for employment
Responsibilities
  • Service of Shop Fabrication Equipment, Automated CNC Machinery, Conventional Equipment, Process Systems and Building Maintenance for the Aerospace Industry
  • Responsible for providing on-site technical support to our aerospace customers, including equipment service, vertical and horizontal machining centers and building lighting replacement and automated process systems
  • Individual will manage customer relations in a positive manner, provide prompt response to customer needs and document all interactions by recording time worked and activities
  • Job Purpose: Maintains production readiness and product quality by ensuring optimum operation of the customers equipment
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements on our customers machines: following operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical systems in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring equipment and test fixtures
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling assemblies using hand and power tools, hoists and cranes; examining form and fit of parts
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  • Adjusts functional parts of tooling and equipment, using hand tools to written specifications in the OEM documentation
  • Controls downtime by performing routine preventive maintenance on equipment following written procedures complying with OEM standards
  • Documenting these activities using MS Excel
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Updates periodic maintenance documents by filling out activities in Excel documents
  • Maintains continuity by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs through pass downs
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Working in an industrial environment
  • Follows safe work practices and policies
  • Safe driving rules and practices for forklift and man-lift operations
  • Basic electrical circuit troubleshooting and repair
