Responsibilities
- Manage tax issues and prepare strategic tax planning (previous experience in Mexico & Canada experience plus).
- Develop and enforce proper accounting practices within the department and the company.
- Implement and manage business tax process offshoring strategy.
- Correspond to state and federal tax authorities regarding tax issues.
- Work closely with 3rd party tax preparers to coordinate tax preparations, review tax returns, and minimize compliance fees.
- Support corporate tax provision, financial reporting, and company tax compliance management.
- File annual individual state report and property tax return.
- Responsible for filing payment and business license support to the operation dept.
- Collect appropriate data and prepare federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.
- Prepare quarterly tax projections and report required estimated tax payments to the advisor.
- Assist in corporate tax planning and developing tax savings strategy and/or tax efficient corporate structure for the affiliates.
- Recognize, anticipate, and resolve various tax issues
- Conduct complex tax research and keep up with latest tax regulation updates.
- Provide comprehensive tax support and helpful input to acquired companies as needed.
- Engage in other special projects as well as completing any additional duties provided by a supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, tax, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, and taxation.
- Demonstrate solid understanding of accounting practices and controls.
- Professional understanding of tax accounting, tax compliance, and all types of tax returns.
- Strong analytical skills are required as is the ability to conduct in-depth research, evaluate problems, and recommend viable solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to relay technical accounting information to non-technical people: bilingual in Korean and English desired.
- Multi-state tax experience desired.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
- Proven analytical and strategic thinking.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Proficient presentation skills.
- Ability to work in groups.
- Proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills: self-management required.
- CPA or EA plus.
