Responsibilities

The Senior Assistant Director of Finance will partner with the Vice President of Finance and function as the property's strategic financial business leader. Examples of Duties, includes but is not limited to the following:
  • Participate in the provision of effective strategic, financial and human resources planning and information.
  • Research, prepare and submit the annual budget.
  • Prepare detailed reports.
  • Provide comptrollership functions in order to ensure finances are managed according to legislation, policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Provide financial and accounting advice, direction and leadership.
  • Responsible for overseeing the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions and the financial services area including A/P, Condo Accounting, Payroll and General Cashier.

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies, and governmental requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    • Ability to analyze complex issues, identify alternative solutions and communicate them effectively with management.

    • Well organized and demonstrated strong problem solving skills.

    • Familiarity and proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word and advanced skills with Excel.

    • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff. 

    • Bachelor's degree or combination of four years relevant education and experience preferred.
    • Minimum of five to eight years experience in accounting/finance. Two years supervisory experience preferred.
