What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Food Bank of Alaska?
The warehouse associate position will provide daily support to the warehouse operations department participating in order selection, receiving incoming freight, loading & unloading freight vans and company vehicles. Daily cleaning assignments, inventory counts, with safe forklift & motorized jack operation. Provide quality and friendly service to agencies and vendors by following organizational standards. Upholding a predetermined quality-controlled standard of orders leaving the warehouse all while upholding safe practices in the workplace. The Warehouse Associate reports directly to the Warehouse Manager for assignments.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES – operations
· Ensure quality control.
· Order selection.
· Provide bypass & priority mail support as needed.
· Assist with the agency desk when needed.
· Ensure excellent customer service to agencies.
· Be prompt, friendly, welcoming and courteous always.
· Assist drivers with loading & unloading of new incoming or outgoing product.
· Provide inventory control, including cycle counts, rack tagging.
· Daily cleaning of shopping areas including cooler and freezer.
· Assist in maintaining good warehouse sanitation standards, repackaging room & bathrooms.
· Assist with major events including warehouse donor tours.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School diploma or GED
· Friendly, outgoing, dependable, consistent team player willing to help wherever it is needed.
· Good communication skills, both written and oral.
· Good interpersonal and public relations skills.
· Good basic math skills.
· Valid Alaska Driver’s license and clean driving record. Ability to receive a Department of Transportation health card.
· Minimum one year computer experience in MS applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy warehouse environment with heavy foot traffic.
· Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, hold and manipulate cans and boxes and bags not to exceed 50 lbs.
