Assistant Manager Responsibilities include same as Sales Associate plus the following: (other duties may be assigned) General Management • Develop and maintain a superior level of customer service by using professional and proper management techniques in all words and actions. • Always speaks with honesty and professionalism and acts with integrity. • Assist manager in directing store employees to adhere to company policies and procedures. • Assist manager in training store employees in store operations policies and procedures. • Assist manager in handling scheduling conflicts and be available to assist in filling scheduling needs. • Report to the Supervisor any repair and maintenance problems that cannot be handled routinely by the Store Manager or any store personnel. Security & Safety • Inspect premises of assigned store to insure adequate security exists and physical facilities comply with Company safety guidelines and procedures. • Assist manager in monitoring and controlling the inventory in the store. • Follow Company policies regarding cash levels in registers and making safe drops. • Follow correct vendor check-in procedures. • Protect company assets at all times. • Count cash out of the sight of the public. • Train store employees to adhere to all security policies and procedures. • Insure safety checklist is complete per company policy. Bookkeeping • Verify the deposits by reconciling the register journal tapes to the shift reports detailing the sales and other transactions of the previous day as instructed/needed by manager. Any over/(short) should be explained. • Complete and send paperwork to the office as instructed/needed by manager • Retail any invoice that cannot be entered at the store level as instructed/needed by manager • Notify the Manager or Supervisor of any material discrepancies in the operating results that you cannot reconcile. • Verify all voids, error corrects and refunds from daily transactions. Report to manager. Merchandising • Keep coolers, drink boxes, store shelves, and displays fully stocked and fronted at all times. • Properly clean and maintain equipment. • Use correct pricing as it appears in the store’s price book. Any discrepancies should be reported to the Pricebook Specialist. • Assist manager in training and assist the store employees in the policy and procedures used to properly clean and maintain the equipment, and on fully stocking and fronting the coolers, drink boxes, store shelves and displays. • Assist manager in notifying Pricebook Administrator of new merchandise product lines before accepting new merchandise or vendors. All new vendors must be authorized by the Office. Maintenance • Keep store floor clean at all times. • Check refrigeration equipment for proper performance while working. • Clean windows, floors, shelving, counters, restrooms and gas pumps to ensure they remain clean at all times. • Immediately notify maintenance of problems that you cannot handle. • Assist manager in training store employees to follow Company policies and procedures for cleaning floors, shelving, windows, counters, restrooms and gas pumps. • Assist manager in training store employees to properly check refrigeration equipment.
