Position: Van Driver
Status: Full Time position available
Hours: Monday - Friday; 40 hours/wk
Purpose: Foothill AIDS Project (FAP) was founded in 1987, and provides HIV/AIDS-related services to clients in San Bernardino, Riverside, and Los Angeles Counties. The Van Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of passengers in FAP's van and must provide superior customer service. It is important the Van Driver maintains a positive attitude and professional appearance at all times.
The Van Driver will:
- Treat all passengers in a courteous, friendly and professional manner.
- Operate passenger van safely and efficiently.
- Follows scheduled routes and responds to requests from Transportation Coordinator for last minute or unscheduled pick-ups or drop-offs.
- Kindly assist passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle, when assistance is requested or required.
- Reports accidents, safety situations, vehicle condition, or damage to Transportation Coordinator.
- Inspects exterior and interior of vehicle at beginning of each shift for properly operating headlights, turn signals, brake lights, mirror adjustment, properly inflated tires, windshield wipers, etc. prior to operating the van.
- Ensures that both inside and outside of vehicle are properly cleaned.
- Accurately completes driver trip sheet for each shift with information including driver identifier, number of
- passengers, pick up and drop off times, mileage, destinations, gas purchases, etc.
Time and Labor Policies and Procedure: Employees must record their time accurately and in accordance to time worked. All time must be recorded within the Stratustime System. Please note: Employees are legally liable for misstatements on their timesheets. Violations of these policies and procedures can lead to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.
Qualifications
- Commercial Class B License
- Excellent communication and written skills Competent computer skills Positive customer relation skills
- Must be 25 years or older (for insurance purposes)
- Possess a valid driver's license with specific class and endorsement based on the type of van according to State requirements.
- Possess an official motor vehicle record that meets recommended criteria outlined by our insurance carrier.
- Ability to complete log and trip sheets.
- Able to sit for up to 8 hours and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Problem solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
- Reliable employment history with strong attendance and punctuality record
- High-school diploma or GED
- Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds
- Have access to reliable transportation Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety practices and procedures
- Knowledge of San Bernardino County area and other transportation providers as potential referrals
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred

Pay: $20.00 - $22.50 per hour
