We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations for all drilling equipment and related assets, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of machinery across our projects.

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the maintenance department, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained, repaired, and optimized for safety and performance. This includes overseeing maintenance teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and coordinating with project teams to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the maintenance of drilling equipment, trucks, and other machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and schedules to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset lifespan.
  • Lead a team of mechanics and maintenance personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality maintenance practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues with equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including MSHA regulations, OSHA standards, and other applicable laws.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and accessible for audits and compliance purposes.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including parts, tools, labor, and vendor costs.
  • Work closely with project managers and other department heads to coordinate equipment availability and maintenance schedules to avoid project delays.
  • Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, replacements, or improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve performance.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and ensure the timely ordering and delivery of necessary materials.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track maintenance efficiency and develop strategies for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in maintenance management, preferably within the drilling, mining, or heavy equipment industries.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on drilling rigs and heavy machinery.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate maintenance teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance best practices, preventive maintenance techniques, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Strong understanding of MSHA and OSHA regulations and safety standards related to drilling operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with experience in budgeting and inventory management.
  • Proficient with computer software programs, including maintenance management systems (MMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
