We are currently seeking experienced and proactive Project Safety Supervisors to join our USA team. This role is critical in maintaining the highest safety standards and ensuring compliance with MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) regulations across our projects.
Position Overview:
As a Project Safety Supervisor, you will oversee and manage the safety aspects of surface and/or underground drilling projects. You will work closely with project teams to implement safety protocols, conduct training, and ensure all operations align with regulatory and company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with MSHA regulations and company standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site-specific safety training sessions.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and crews to ensure safety is prioritized in all operations.
- Maintain detailed safety records, including training logs, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Monitor and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to project teams on safety best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with changes to MSHA regulations and industry standards, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or audits.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a safety-focused role within the drilling, mining, or construction industries.
- In-depth knowledge of MSHA regulations and safety practices for surface and underground operations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and influence teams to prioritize safety.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in preparing reports and maintaining safety records.
- Certifications in safety management (e.g., OSHA, MSHA, CSP, or similar) are highly desirable.
- Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
