Position Overview:
Under the guidance and direction of the Driller, the Driller Assistant is responsible for assisting in the recovery and presentation of samples through safe, cost-effective, and professional practices to meet or exceed client expectations. This role requires adherence to Foraco’s policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Driller with all aspects of the drilling process.
- Operate and maintain equipment under the Driller’s supervision.
- Ensure equipment and tools are cared for and properly maintained.
- Communicate effectively within a small team environment.
- Perform physical labor and assist in the preparation and cleanup of drilling sites.
- Support a culture of safety by following all company safety protocols and encouraging safe practices.
Position Requirements:
- Commitment to workplace safety and the safety of team members.
- At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license (clean record for the last three years).
- Ability to pass a pre-hire drug test and a fit-for-duty test.
- Physical fitness to perform labor-intensive tasks.
- Preference for working outdoors and the ability to adapt to a nomadic lifestyle.
- Availability to work 12-hour shifts (day or night) in various climatic conditions for extended periods.
- Mechanical aptitude and a basic understanding of machinery operation and maintenance.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
