Scheduling & Travel

  • Must be able to work on a flexible schedule that at times may include early or late and regular weekend hours.
  • Certain positions in the Financial Services Sector (including Forcht Bank) are considered critical and/or essential to the infrastructure.  Individuals occupying these positions, must be able to report to work as directed in the event of inclement weather, declared states of emergency, and/or pandemic conditions, under the discretion of Forcht Bank leadership. 
  • Must be able to attend new hire training and orientation in Lexington, KY or Somerset, KY Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for a one-to-two-week period.
  • Ability to travel to other locations as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

  • Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with Commercial Banking Officers, assisting in determining client needs and appropriate products and/or services.
  • Assists Commercial Banking Officers in obtaining information required for loan applications and other banking products, explain the process and answer questions.
  • Analyzes applicants’ financial status, credit, and property evaluations using judgment to determine feasibility of loan requests in coordination with Commercial Credit Manager.
  • Obtains and compiles copies of loan applicants’ credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.
  • Works closely with Commercial Banking Officers to guide loan applications through the underwriting process to decision.
  • Stays abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products to better meet clients’ needs.
  • Stays abreast of regulatory compliance requirements, loan policy and operating guidelines.
  • Reviews and updates credit and loan files.
  • Submits applications to Central Retail or Credit Officers for underwriting and analysis, once all information has been obtained.
  • Submits necessary documents to Central Processing Department and Loan Processor for generation of loan documents.
  • Ensures complete closing packages are received timely and reviewed prior to delivery to client or attorney.
  • Assists Commercial Banking Officers in closing and funding loans.
  • Assists Commercial Banking Officers to manage credit and collection of payments up to 30 days delinquent for the life of the loan.
  • Assist Commercial Banking Officers and Credit Manager to monitor loan documents, including loan agreements to ensure borrowers is in compliance with terms throughout life of loan.
  • Services clients’ complaints, questions and requests, as needed, and takes appropriate action to resolve.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating loan pipeline.
  • Assist in preparing letters of intent and loan proposals.
  • Assist in the annual collection of financial information from commercial loan clients.
  • Review maturity reports to ensure that loan renewals are processed in a timely manner.
  • Review loan repricing reports to assist Commercial Banking Officers to identify possible loan modifications ore refinances.
  • Assist in opening deposit accounts for loan clients.
  • Work with Commercial Banking Officers to identify cross-selling opportunities within the portfolio.
  • Provide support and direct contact with clients of Commercial Banking Officers when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry information such as client financial statements, loan documents and complex technical documents.
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office Products, in particular Word and Excel; Bank information systems; Laser Pro and internet research when appropriate.
  • Extensive background in financial institution operating policies and procedures and banking regulations including a thorough understanding of financial institution products and services.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management in verbal and written format.
  • Ability to work with a team and members of other departments of known concepts.
  • Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems and collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying; taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Ability to communicate orally to offer to others to convey information effectively.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar including the ability to comprehend written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to manage time and to be efficient and effective in the completion of assignments.

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study; additional years of experience above the minimum requirements may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Five (5) years of experience working in a lending environment; preferred experiences as a lender.
  • Knowledge of bank operations, procedures and regulations.

 

Other Requirements

  • May be required to attend activities outside the bank to stay abreast of new developments, best practices, civic activities, and statutory and regulatory changes.

  • Comply with all Bank Secrecy Act rules, regulations and requirements.
