Summary
This position is in our Packaging Division. This location is food-grade approved which means: no jewelry, no buttons on clothing, must wear hair net and beard net (if applicable) and no nail polish and/or fake nails of any kind.
The Folding and Gluing Operator sets up gluing and folding machines for each customer order and tends to various departmental duties including feeding, packing, skidding, stripping, box assembly, and quality control.

Essential Functions
- Sets up and operates gluing and folding machine for each customer order; establishes priorities for orders
- Motivates, leads, and coordinates the efforts of, and otherwise assumes responsibility for the performance of assigned work team
- Assigns team members to appropriate machine to run each job efficiently and effectively
- Ensures team meets or exceeds determined hourly production rate specifications.
- Performs quality inspection of finished cards, cartons and folders to ensure that they are properly glued
- Separates and removes scrap material from printed cardboard using air gun when needed
- Ensures quality standard conformance through visual inspection of printed cards, cartons or folders; discards defective cards, cartons or folders when job is completed and accounted for
- Trouble shoot for machine malfunctions; makes minor repairs and adjustments
- Completes appropriate paperwork as assigned to department
- Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications, including size, count, serial numbers, and standard quality conformance.
- Moves skids of work‑in‑process and boxed, finished goods from one work station to another station within department when needed
- Performs preventative maintenance by cleaning, oiling and greasing machinery.
- Maintains neat and orderly department implementing good housekeeping practices
- Shares responsibility with team/department members for quality of outputs
Lead Expectations:
- Folding/Gluing lead will assist the Plant Management with meeting run rate, waste, and set-up time expectations. This includes, but not limited to the current lines in department
- Assist with the development and implementation of cross-training program, as well as a maintenance program. Training and team support will be facilitated by lead with assistance from Supervisor
- Approval of production parts per upcoming SOP
Physical Demands
- Able to move/lift up to 40 lbs and stand for 95% of shift.
