The Teacher Online Learning will provide direction and support that will ensure student success in the online learning environment. The incumbent will provide students with appropriate learning activities, resources and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The teacher will actively monitor and track individual student progress, providing mediation and direction as needed. Any teacher who will coach a UIL sport will also provide athletic services related to that athletic sport and the athletic program.

Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate student registration into online courses, including working with school counselors and school/district administrators to ensure students have the necessary prerequisites for the course and the course fits into the students plan for graduation
- Implement digital courses/lessons that fulfill the requirements of the District’s curriculum program
- Coordinate with the campus data specialist/registrar to ensure all course completions and grades are properly recorded and reflected on grade reports and transcripts
- Provide an orientation for all students prior to their first course so that they understand the expectations
- Allow for accommodations for differences in student learning styles
- Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect accommodation for individual needs of students assigned
- Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities as needed
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP)
- Cooperate with other members of staff for planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements
- Assist students in analyzing and improving study methods and habits
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned
- Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal
- Act as a positive role model for students, support mission of school district
- Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students
- Manage student behavior and administer discipline according to board policies, administrative regulations and IEPs
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Assist in selection of equipment and other instructional materials
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, counselors and teachers
- Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members
- Use acceptable communication skills to present information accurately and clearly
- Participate in the District staff development program
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible
- Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers
- Compile and maintain all reports, records, and other documents
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees
- Articulate the District’s mission and goals in areas of assigned responsibilities to the community and solicit its support in realizing the mission
- Demonstrate awareness of district/community needs and initiate activities to meet identified needs
- Participate in department and district meetings and initiatives as needed
- Perform coaching duties as assigned as well as other duties required for the smooth, efficient operation of a successful athletic program
- Possess knowledge and adhere to UIL rules and regulations
- Assist the Athletic Department with budget, schedules, care/use of facilities
- Communicate with the Athletic Department on a regular basis
Qualification Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Texas Teacher Certification
- Valid Driver's license with CDL Certification preferred if coaching a UIL sport
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience
- Coaching experience preferred if coaching a UIL sport
- Knowledge of High School Curriculum
- General knowledge of design and delivery issues related to alignment for best results in student achievement
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
