POSITION SUMMARY
This is a management position requiring the individual to supervise and coordinate activities of the Asphalt Paving Foreperson and crew members as well as sub-contractors engaged in placing and compacting asphalt pavement or similar materials. This person will be working on federal, state, county, or city road projects as well as private and commercial projects to include: parking lots, developments, and driveways.
Responsibilities include:
- Directly Manage field supervisors, work crews, and other staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed, work and safety standards are maintained, and schedules are met
- Assist with bidding on engineered projects
- Manage projects being inspected by consulting engineers and governmental agency engineers
- Maintain a high regard for safety for employees and general public
- Hire, oversee training and development, and perform evaluations
- Review and monitor employee timecards, driver logs, and work orders
- Visit and inspect jobsites and crews
- Coordinate purchase and delivery of materials Oversee maintenance of equipment

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in civil, mining or construction engineering; construction management, or other construction-related curriculum; geology; or manufacturing process and design or equivalent experience
- Ability to read and comprehend construction plans and specifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to organize, plan, schedule, prioritize, direct, and monitor crews
- Ability to keep time and material records
- Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills and attributes
- Possess a valid current Driver's License
