Summary:

The Project Manager/Business Analyst (PM/BA) is a hybrid role responsible for both gathering and analyzing business requirements like a traditional business analyst, while also managing the project execution and delivery aspects like a project manager, effectively bridging the gap between understanding business needs and ensuring successful project implementation across all project phases including implementation, application development and product updates, and platform refreshes. The PM/BA will serve as the primary interface between clients and internal cross-function teams to deliver on project tasks and an effective communication strategy to keep the client and FHG apprised of the project status. Key factors for succeeding in this role are understanding the nuances of tasks in each of the project types, their impact on other tasks, requirements gathering and documentation, accurately assessing and mitigating risks, proactive communication to all stakeholders, and timely escalation to the right resources.

 

What You'll Do:

  •  Organize and schedule meetings for each project including managing the meeting agendas, action items, issue tracking, documentation and aligning the appropriate resources.
  • Collaborate with internal cross functional teams and client representatives to develop the project schedule.
  • Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and actively monitor for issues that could impact project success.
  • Effectively manage and understand the business and technical scope, ensure proper change control processes are followed, and communicate updates to all relevant parties throughout the project.
  • Identify and document business requirements using techniques like interviews, workshops and data analysis to understand stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and technical teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications, ensuring the solution aligns with business needs.
  • Collaborate with team leads and Channel Director to allocate appropriate resources to tasks.
  • Identify and manage changes that occur in scope and timeline.
  • Develop and implement an effective communication strategy to manage expectations, address concerns and ensure the client and internal FHG stakeholders are apprised of the project status through regular updates including issue and action item tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with FHG Administration, Legal and Finance teams to ensure contract adherence and deliverable tracking.
  • Coordinate with IT Security team to ensure security standards are met and maintained.
  • Support the entire continuum of JIRA workflows to adjudicate any client inquiries related to platform enhancement, features, or functions.
  • Occasional travel required to advance company objectives. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Demonstrated ability to capture details of an issue or meeting and summarize in clear document. Tracks meeting decisions and follow up items proactively and ensures documentation is thorough and complete.  Effectively communicates in oral and written formats in manner that assists in conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

 

Problem Identification - Problems are identified and communicated to appropriate FHG team member for timely resolution. Information is gathered to help develop solutions and/or make decisions.

 

Healthcare Industry Knowledge – Possess interest and experience about the healthcare industry inclusive of EHR platforms, clinical improvement initiatives, operations, healthcare industry changes and technology advancement and willing to independently research, read, and learn as new topics are encountered during FHG responsibilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in a related filed required.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a project management and/or business analyst role with an emphasis on project strategies, requirements documentation, tactical plans and coordination between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Previous experience in a health care setting in a project management or business analyst role preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify business needs and translate them into actionable project plans. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools. 
  • Understanding of business analysis techniques like data analysis, process modeling, and requirement elicitation. 
  • Ability to work effectively independently as well as a critical member of diverse teams is required.
  • Previous experience with IT Software Development Project Management preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hospital and health system operations, workflows and environments preferred.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle required for occasional travel to client sites.
  • PMP Certification a plus.

Communication Skills:  Strong skills in conveying technical solutions and system related strategies and approaches with staff and customers as necessary in a direct and easy to understand manner is essential in this role in both written and verbal forms.

 

Decision Making:  Ability to prioritize issues and tasks and take direction from FHG Leadership to advance client or project initiatives.  Ability to judge when issues require engagement of others to solve or escalation to result in desired outcomes.

 

Language Skills:  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and all levels of the organization.   Fluency in English is required. 

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

 

Computer Skills: Must have proficiency in common software tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email. JIRA knowledge helpful. Qualified candidates will also have the willingness and ability to learn additional applications as needed.
