What are the responsibilities and job description for the Post-doctoral Fellow position at Fox Chase Cancer Center?
A Postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Cihangir Duy’s laboratory at the Fox Chase Cancer Center (https://www.foxchase.org/cihangir-duy). Our laboratory is seeking a self-motivated and organized individual with interest in cancer epigenetics or translational research to join a new research team. We use normal blood and leukemia cells for a) the discovery of epigenetic mechanisms contributing to malignancy and therapy resistance, and b) to understand epigenome regulation. We also develop novel therapeutic approaches to benefit cancer patients.
Our lab implements a variety of genomic techniques, single cell approaches, and organoid models to decipher the epigenome and cell biology (e.g., Duy et al., Cancer Discovery 2019; Duy et al., Cancer Discovery 2021). Our lab offers a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment in close interaction with laboratory- and computational-focused researchers as well as world class scientist and clinicians. Team members will gain experience and develop skill sets for next career stages. Also, team members will be involved in developing innovative methods and protocols for research and assist with the development of other research projects in the lab.
Highly motivated applicants with a strong expertise in epigenetics, molecular biology, immunology, or a related area are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to recently graduated (or about to graduate) applicants who reside in the US and have expertise in molecular and cell biology techniques. Bioinformatics skills will be an advantage. The postdoctoral individual must be dedicated and will be expected to lead independent research projects, foster collaborations, present and communicate research findings at meetings and conferences. The qualified candidate will receive guidance in the development of independent research interests and grant proposals. Individuals must have a PhD or equivalent degree and at least one first-author publication.
