Admissions Assistant - Full Time

Look no further.......Franciscan Village, a leader in senior living and health care services is looking for a highly motivated and senior-inspired individual to join its Admissions Team in the newly created role of (add title). This role is responsible for creating exceptional admissions experiences for residents, family members and community partners within a concierge-infused and fast-paced setting. Experience working within a senior health care setting and admissions is preferred, but the willingness to learn, grow and be a vital member of results-infused team is required. Excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and a solutions-oriented mindset are a plus! Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates bed availability and discusses placement with hospitals and public.
  • Tours prospects, families, caregivers and referral sources through facility.
  • Answers telephone inquiries from families and referral sources.
  • Networks with area hospitals, physicians and facilities regarding our services.
  • Assesses resident’s onsite in hospitals.
  • Makes on-site admission decisions based upon predetermined criteria.
  • Completes pre-admission assessment of prospective residents and readmissions.
  • Reports assessment findings to Clinical Team of appropriate area of campus prior to resident’s admission to assure proper placement.
  • Interviews residents/caregivers and obtains required information and signatures.
  • Admits and prepares identification records for residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and accurate record of available beds.
  • Admits, transfers and discharges residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Attaches pre-admission documentation to admission papers as appropriate.
  • Collects, assembles and checks admission papers. Forwards to appropriate department.
  • Obtains the resident’s assigned room number. Places in all necessary admission papers.
  • Explains to the resident and/or guardian, room rates, billing procedures, visitors/ guests privileges, restrictions, resident care procedures, etc., as appropriate. 
  • Notifies nursing service when the resident has arrived at the facility to assure that a member of the nursing staff escorts the resident to his/her assigned room.
  • Maintains various registries as directed including register for admission and discharge of residents.
  • Maintains resident/patient and facility confidentiality.
  • Obtains the resident/caregiver’s signature on all required permits, releases, authorizations, etc
  • Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility.
  • Participates in staff meetings; keeps abreast of communications via posted memos and policies and procedures.
  • Attends mandatory in-services.
  • Adheres to attendance policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as job responsibilities dictate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned with realm of competency and job description.
  • Provide Sales Support to the Marketing Department in the promotion of all areas of campus.
  • Monitor progress of hospitalized residents campus-wide and make recommendations to family/resident/responsible party for post-hospital resources for care.
  • Effectively promote all areas/services of campus to prospective and current residents, family members and referral sources.

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Human Services Related Field - preferred
  • Minimum 3 years related experience, Knowledge of medical terminology, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines as well as licensure regulations.
