Forklift Operator - 2nd Shift

The shipping department is responsible for receiving materials and shipping finished goods. The overall objective of this position is to pull parts for other employees to handle and/or package, as well as putting away stock and pulling orders for customers.

Essential Accountabilities

• Increase process efficiencies by accurately pulling parts, putting orders together, putting back cancelled orders and/or check return orders in a timely fashion, and maintaining a clean and organized work area

• Build team atmosphere by helping, when able, to fellow coworkers

• Increase revenue by properly tracking stock/inventory moving into the shipping area

• Improve process efficiencies by accurately pulling and shrink-wrapping orders, managing stock and sending out orders on schedule.

• Foster a positive work environment by maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

• Other duties and assignments as required.

Education/Certifications

• High School Diploma/GED

• Forklift license preferred

• 1-2 years relative experience

• Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

• Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and maintenance. Tools include: tape gun, utility knife, shrink wrap machine, scale, pallet jack, forklift, and ladder

• Verbal & Written Communication Skills – This position requires basic skills (Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

• Math Skills – This position requires basic skills (add, subtract, etc.

Physical Requirement: Must have ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Employee must be able to sit, climb or balance, hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, talk, and reach with hands and arms.

Working Conditions: Duties performed in a manufacturing plant environment: can be high heat, high humidity, and airborne particles.

Hours: Shifts vary and last 8 hours. Overtime required as needed.
