JOB TITLE: Janitor

EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Exempt

REPORT SERVICES TO : Property Manager

COMPENSATION: $15/hour payable bi-weekly

WORK SCHEDULE: 8AM - 5PM

SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

To ensure that the spaces/buildings to which they are assigned remain tidy and orderly. Should be able to complete assigned tasks within the stipulated period and should be physically fit and able to perform with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Responsible for all basic cleaning in and around residences or office buildings.
• Cleans floors and rooms. including dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass and windows.
• Cleans restrooms, including restocking dispensers, emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot cleaning partition doors and walls, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning toilets and urinals.
• Vacuums, empties trash, and replaces liners.
• Sets up, stocks, and maintains cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Monitors and maintains sanitation and organization of assigned areas.
• Transports dirty linens to correct area to be cleaned and restocks areas with clean linens.
• Assists other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests.
• Performs additional duties as needed.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent is advantageous.
• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Able to use a variety of cleaning products and equipment.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Able to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
• Available to work mornings and evenings, plus weekends, as needed.
• Must have a smart phone and transportation to work

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly walk, stand or stoop; occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 100 pounds; and regularly drives a motor vehicle.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office setting at the main office on Eastern Avenue or in an office of a community residence in a building where clients reside; Work exposes incumbent to contagious or infectious diseases; Work may expose incumbent to dangerous and volatile situations; which could result in bodily injury.

ANTICIPATED TRAVEL: 75% of the time
