Job Summary:
Freedom Outdoors is a leading outdoor sporting goods retailer with a network of multiple physical stores and a large-scale eCommerce platform dedicated to delivering exceptional products and experiences to our customers. We’re seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Inventory Manager to oversee inventory operations across all locations and our online platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal stock levels, managing supply chain logistics, and leading a team of inventory and warehouse staff to maintain efficient operations. Responsibilities:

• Inventory Oversight Across Multiple Locations:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive inventory management strategy for all stores and the eCommerce platform, ensuring accurate tracking of stock levels across channels.
  • Monitor product availability, analyze sales trends, and adjust inventory levels to meet customer demand during peak seasons and promotional events.
  • Coordinate transfers and replenishment of stock between stores and the eCommerce platform to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Warehouse and Logistics Management:
  • Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping products, to ensure efficient processes and high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to manage delivery schedules and prioritize inventory for seasonal outdoor sports and activities, enhancing the product offering.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment.
• Supplier Relations and Cost Control:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable pricing and terms to maximize profitability across all sales channels.
  • Conduct regular cost analyses and performance evaluations of suppliers, ensuring optimal inventory management and cost-effectiveness.
• Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, recruit, train, and manage a team of inventory and warehouse employees across all locations, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear performance expectations and schedules for team members to enhance operational efficiency and meet business goals.
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Prepare comprehensive inventory reports for upper management, detailing stock levels, supply chain performance, and operational challenges.
  • Track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for inventory accuracy, eCommerce fulfillment efficiency, and overall operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an inventory manager, preferably within retail and eCommerce environments.
• Strong analytical skills, with a sound understanding of inventory management software and data analytics.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to solve problems and streamline processes.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic retail and eCommerce landscape.

Preferred Skills:

• Inventory Management Software Proficiency:
  • Skilled in using platforms for multi-channel inventory tracking, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools for insights on inventory trends and eCommerce fulfillment processes.
• Multi-Location and eCommerce Coordination:
  • Experience managing stock across multiple retail stores and eCommerce channels, with strategies for balancing inventory and preventing out-of-stock situations.
  • Knowledge of eCommerce fulfillment, including order processing, shipping, and demand planning.
• Supplier Relationship and Cost Management:
  • Proven negotiation skills to secure favorable terms, along with experience in evaluating supplier performance for reliability and quality.
  • Ability to analyze purchasing trends to optimize inventory costs and maintain supplier partnerships.
• Analytical and Data-Driven Decision Making:
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting data to inform purchasing, allocation, and inventory cycle strategies.
  • Familiarity with demand forecasting to align stock levels with customer demand and reduce excess inventory.
• Product Knowledge and Quality Control:
  • Understanding of outdoor sporting goods and seasonal trends to predict demand effectively.
  • Experience with quality control and process improvement methods to enhance efficiency and maintain safety standards.
