Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District TITLE: Van Driver (2 positions needed) Job Posting # 25-85 About Freetown-Lakeville The Towns of Freetown and Lakeville are thriving rural areas with approximately 25,400 people. The regional school district consists of five schools, from the towns of Lakeville and Freetown. Four of the schools are located in the town of Lakeville; one Elementary grades K-3, one intermediate school grades 4-5, one middle school grades 6-8, and one high school grades 9-12. There is one elementary school grade Pre-K -3 located in the town of Freetown. JOB DESCRIPTION: Driver would operate an eight-passenger van for morning and afternoon school runs. WORK HOURS: Monday-Friday, school year plus 5 weeks in the summer (Flexible 20-25 hrs./wk.) DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain confidentiality at all times Provide safe and timely transport of students to and from the school/programs they attend.. Perform daily safety checks of vehicle and equipment, reporting any problems to the Transportation Coordinator. Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of vehicle. Ensure that the vehicle has adequate gasoline prior to beginning of the route(s). Operate vehicle(s) in accordance with all Federal and State traffic laws. Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, student and mileage logs. Secure students and/or equipment with any restraints, seat belts, car seats, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the safety and well-being of students. Assist students to safely enter and exit the vehicle as needed. Deal effectively with behavior issues during the route. Driver/Monitor must report any problems or concerns to the Transportation Coordinator and file an incident report. Release students only to individuals identified as approved for release and contact the transportation office when in question. Additional job duties as assigned by the Transportation Coordinator. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Current 7-D License High School Diploma Experience w/ Special needs Students Experience as a van/bus driver First Aid & CPR Certified CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check. Citizenship, residency, or work visa in the United States is required.
