Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee transportation operations, including the handling, shipping, and delivery of hazardous materials in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Develop and implement transportation policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the safe and efficient movement of hazardous materials
- Coordinate and schedule transportation activities, optimizing routes and ensuring timely deliveries while minimizing risks and costs
- Ensure all transportation activities adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements, including proper handling, storage, and documentation of hazardous materials
- Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and regulatory agencies to maintain compliance and resolve transportation-related issues
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess transportation equipment, facilities, and procedures for compliance and safety
- Evaluate and select transportation vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure high-quality service and cost-effectiveness
- Train and educate staff on proper handling and transportation procedures for hazardous materials
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Hazmat certification required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in transportation management, specifically handling hazardous materials
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements, including DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in transportation management software and MS Office Suite
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead by example
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
