Turns out, it’s kind of a big deal. As one of the largest tech platforms in a massive industry (the phone or computer you’re reading this on was shipped, after all), we’ve been crushing it with double-digit growth year after year.
We have a lot of people who are already coming to us from companies of all shapes and sizes. We also have a lot more prospects who are somewhere out there...and don’t know how much better we can make their freight live.
So we’re looking for an incredible Business Developer who can use sales and marketing strategies, including social media prospecting and outbound calling, to help prospect, identify, and protect current customers. Our ideal applicant has sufficient sales experience, is driven, and has knowledge of the logistics industry. We will provide specific on-the-job training related to our sales, marketing strategies and products.
On the inbound side, you will help qualify and nurture inbound leads. You will also have a stream of leads, detailed information on how they came to us, and insight on how to help them advance along our sales cycle. Following a tried and true system, you’ll nurture, qualify, and assign leads, while keeping our CRM nice and clean.
Overall, you will help lead the global transformation of the industry, introducing them to a radically faster way to book freight and any of our products that meets their needs.
Responsibilities
- You’ll identify potential customers, upon doing so you will contact & nurture a relationship with them through various sales tools, emails, and phone calls.
- You’ll engage with customers that have used the platform but may have reverted to more traditional methods to find out why and how we can get them back to using the platform.
- It’s even nicer when they come to us. You’ll tap into our industry presence to qualify and assign inbound leads, nurturing when necessary in order to help get them sales ready.
- Both inbound and outbound leads rely on us delivering on our commitments. You’ll live and breathe customer needs so you know how our products help make them move goods around the world...and help them have more time to focus on their customers than administrative tasks.
- As the tool that we depend on, you’ll keep our CRM squeaky-clean & updated with vigilant qualification and assignment of leads, based on geographies, products, and user types.
- You love giving customers what they need! You understand and have the ability to demo our different products to customers, identify what their needs are and create a meaningful introduction to the sales executive, which creates the best possible chance for success.
- You thrive on bringing in new customers and bringing back ones that have stopped using the platform, therefore you will have KPIs based on the number of new accounts that you sign up and bring back to our eBooking and SaaS products.
- You can bring in your techy side by having the responsibility to make sure the accounts are set up correctly in our systems. Basically, giving our customers the power to book & get hooked on our platforms!
- You own your pipeline from the moment the lead arrives at your doorstep until you close the deal. Thus, you will follow up and support customers until they become fluent in using WebCargo’s products, and continue to help them when they have questions or concerns.

Basic Requirements
- Strong cold call capabilities. Like, super strong. The entire team's success is driven by your ability to contact new and current customers to drive platform utilization.
- Incredible interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Customer focused (internal & external) service orientation and team first attitude.
- Computer proficiency (CRM, Google, Microsoft) and familiarity with social media.
- Excellent presentation skills utilizing online softwares like Teams, Zoom and Google Meets.
Preferred Requirements
- Proven Business Development experience, prospecting, and sales.
- High School Diploma/GED, Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
- Experience with SaaS and CRM software, especially with Zoho (even more preferred).
