Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitorial Technician to maintain cleanliness and functionality in an industrial environment. The ideal candidate will ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic workspace for all employees by performing a wide range of janitorial tasks, including specialized duties suited to an industrial setting.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Clean and Maintain Facilities:
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, wash areas, and break rooms.
  • Replenish soap, paper towels, and other supplies as needed.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all common areas.
     
• Equipment and Facility Maintenance:
  • Replace air filters as scheduled.
  • Replace light bulbs in overhead fixtures and other lighting systems.
  • Operate and maintain a riding sweeper to clean factory floors.
     
• Waste Management:
  • Empty trash bins and recycling containers throughout the facility.
  • Safely dispose of waste materials according to company policies.
     
• Employee Support:
  • Distribute uniforms to employee lockers and ensure proper inventory.
     
• Additional Duties:
  • Perform other janitorial and maintenance tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Identify and report any safety or maintenance concerns.

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or maintenance roles, preferably in an industrial setting.
• Ability to safely operate equipment such as a riding sweeper and other janitorial tools.
• Basic mechanical skills to perform light maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs and air filters.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders.

Working Environment

• This position operates in a heavy industrial setting, which may involve exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.

Salary : $17
