Responsibilities:
- Being the technical authority for all aspects of new product development in alternative markets from discovery to product launch.
- Perform all engineering duties for new product development including but not limited to conceptual design, feasibility studies, detailed analysis, and drafting testing requirements.
- Working directly with new and existing customers to solve complex application problems.
- Key Contributor to the development of innovative products and processes.
- Broadens capabilities and continues to build knowledge of the company, processes, and customers.
- Provide Technical support in accordance with internal specifications, industry standards and customer requirements.
- Works directly with the FFL business group leaders and VP of Engineering on formulating technology roadmaps.
- Keeping updated with latest developments and relevant opportunities in alternative energy markets, including newest technology.
- Anticipates key challenges in alternative energy markets and/or regulatory issues, reviews and recommends products/services to the key members of the business group.
- As the technical authority, influence change and advancement in the alternative industry.
- Maintain close relationships with the Engineering, manufacturing, and business development teams across all FFL sites.
- Follow Freudenberg Guiding and Business Principles in all situations.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of Engineering experience in applicable fields.
- 7 years of FEA engineering experience of product design in applicable industry(s)
- BEng or BSc required. Meng or MSc preferred.
- Working knowledge of industry standards (ASME VIII, API, Norsok and DNV).
- Strong CAD and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience of cradle to grave product design experience.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Experience with dealing directly with customers.
- Working knowledge of performing site visits and ability to offer technical solutions.
- Knowledge of FFL products a plus.
