Job Description:
Life Skills Trainers provide one on one training for people with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities living in nursing facilities. Training is individualized but typically directed at improving socialization and communication with peers, enhancing basic personal hygiene skills, and promoting independence. Training is personalized to each person's interests and abilities. A high school diploma or equivalent is required., but no specialized certification is necessary. On the job training will be provided.
Successful Life Skills Trainers are creative and can work independently without direct supervision. This is a very rewarding position for the right person. You will be able to see the difference you are making in the lives of your assigned clients.
Work schedule is flexible and typically Monday through Friday only.
