Friendship Education Foundation was established in 2014 as a 501(c)3 non-profit Charter Management Organization (CMO). FEF was created to replicate and expand the Friendship school design nationally. Since then we have opened new schools and managed turnaround and takeover schools in 3 states (Maryland, Louisiana and Arkansas) and the District of Columbia. FEF differs from an EMO because we are a non-profit company.

The Friendship Education Foundation seeks to nationally replicate the educational programs and best practices that have been successfully implemented to low income and economically disadvantaged students in DC. The Friendship School Design was developed and refined over the past 17 years by Friendship Public Charter School, Inc.

Beginning with just one location in 2018, Friendship Public Charter School, Inc opened its first campus in Arkansas in the city of Pine Bluff. Now, Friendship Aspire Academy Public Charter School of Arkansas now spans over 7 schools in the cities of Pine Bluff, Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Maumelle. We currently serve a network enrollment cap of 2,600 and 135 employees. Our rigorous curriculum, exemplary instruction, resource-rich forums and total commitment to student advancement have made Friendship one of the nation's top charter systems

Job description

To transport students to and from school and extracurricular events following a scheduled route while ensuring student safety. As well as ensuring that their vehicles are in good shape and observing safety and traffic rules while on the road with students traveling across town.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Transport students
• Ensure adherence to safety rules
• May assist passengers in boarding or exiting
• Follow safety rules as students are boarding and exiting buses and as they cross streets near bus stops
• Comply with traffic regulations to operate the vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order
• Maintain order among students during trips to ensure safety
• Pick up and drop off students at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations, following strict time schedules
• Report any bus malfunctions or needed repairs
• Drive gasoline, diesel, or electrically powered multi-passenger vehicles to transport students between neighborhoods, schools, and school activities
• Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, and/or fares received
• Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures
• Keep bus interiors clean for passengers
• Read maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions
• Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations using telephones or mobile two-way radios
• Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort
• Escort small children across roads and highways

Qualifications

Commercial Driver's License Class B with air brakes, passenger and school bus endorsements

• Dot Drug Test Program, FBI and ASP Background Check, Child Maltreatment Background, Check
• Occupation requires this activity more than 66% of the time (5.5 hrs/day)
