Purpose of the Position
The dietary aide assists team members with meal preparation, meal service, dishwashing and cleaning duties of the kitchen and dining areas, as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Maintains personal cleanliness and follows employee sanitation standards according to food service regulations.
- Assist with food and beverages preparation, service and clean up.
- Uses food service equipment properly and safely.
- Assists with dining room set up, as assigned.
- Serve residents honoring their choices and rights.
- Follows correct portion control by using standard utensils.
- Assists with cleaning of the dining area following meal service.
- Assist with proper food storage by covering, labeling and storing according to sanitation standards.
- Maintains a clean work environment by washing table service, utensils, equipment, cards and kitchen floors following meals according to polices.
- Dispose of garbage and recyclable materials properly.
- Assists with check-in and storage of food and department deliveries. Helps stock supplies in serving and kitchen areas, as needed.
- Completes assigned cleaning duties in the dining areas and kitchen.
- Follows general safety and infection control procedures in the work place.
- Completes assigned education and training sessions.
