Job Description: Home Health Aide (HHA)
Position Overview
A Home Health Aide (HHA) provides personal care and assistance to clients in their homes to support their health and daily living needs. They help individuals maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life while ensuring their safety and comfort. HHAs often work with elderly clients, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness, surgery, or injuries.
Key Responsibilities.
1. Personal Care.
Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene needs.
Provide mobility support, including transfers, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises.
Assist with toileting and incontinence care.
2. Companionship and Emotional Support.
Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations.
Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or recreational activities when necessary.
3. Household Assistance
Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, and tidying living areas.
Prepare and serve meals according to dietary requirements or preferences.
4. Health Monitoring
Observe and report changes in clients' physical or mental condition to supervisors or healthcare professionals.
Assist with medication reminders under supervision, if required.
5. Documentation
Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided, including activities, observations, and any changes in condition.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Nursing Assistant (CNA), depending on state requirements.
CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
Previous experience in home care, caregiving, or a related field (preferred).
