Summary
The Product Manager reports to the Director of Product or Vice President of Product and is responsible for the strategic position of the personal line product in order to meet the objectives of the organization. This includes the management of existing products and development of new insurance products. The primary focus of the role is on the personal line’s programs within the assigned states and Operations to develop and maintain complete products in alignment with the company vision. The Product Manager is responsible for ensuring that newly launched and existing product goals are met, overseeing any necessary changes to ensure ideal production and loss ratios are achieved.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop new product lines as identified by senior leadership
- Oversees the handling of current product lines such as Condo, Rental, Dwelling or Homeowners for all states
- Conduct and/or oversee product research and provide intelligence to senior decision makers
- Lead market research into competitor’s filings, emerging markets, litigation trends, and innovative policy solutions to address key issues
- Makes recommendations to Leadership Team regarding pricing changes based on losses, competitor pricing and market data research
- Responsible for training and performing any and all departmental duties as necessary
- Teaches and establishes core knowledge of industry norms and stays abreast of industry developments. Keeps current on key legislative bills and regulations
- Supervises and develops long and short-term plans for aggregate management in coordination with the Product VP
- Work with compliance to ensure that products comply with applicable state and/or federal regulations.
- As part of product development, assist in the formation of the complete product line including:
- Forms
- Underwriting Guidelines
- System Requirements
- Process Guidelines
- Manage state form filings and coordinate with actuaries, regulators and senior leaders as required.
- Directs and performs project management for implementation of new product feature and other projects assigned by the Product VP
- Oversees and establishes internal business relationships and facilitates the implementation of product changes through other parts of the organization
May have supervisory responsibilities
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- 10-15 years underwriting or forms development experience
- Product development experience preferred
- 5 years management experience
- College degree preferred in Business, Accounting, Finance, Data analysis, Mathematics, or Economics.
- CPCU or actively pursuing CPCU preferred.
- Knowledge of forms performance in matters of litigation is preferred
- Proficiency in policy forms drafting
- Well versed in the Florida insurance regulatory process and environment
- Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
- Strong knowledge of data analysis
