What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician, Mechanical Packaging Services position at Fruit Growers Supply Company?
Essential Job Functions
- Perform Weekly, Bi-Weekly & Monthly PM services on all equipment per PM schedule.
- Perform Service/Breakdown calls
- Keep all machinery clean and in proper working order
- Work with management on new machinery installs/removals
- Work with outside vendors on new projects(management included)
- Maintain service/PM paperwork for each site visit(electronically created & monitored)
- Keep track of all Parts & lubricants used during visits for re-order
- Refurbish Machinery after customers seasons over to prep for next location and/or season
- Travel to different states in North America for Installs & Service calls(If needed)
- Travel to Baja Mexico for Installs & Service Calls(If Needed)
- Will need Valid Drivers license and Valid Unrestricted Passport to travel to Mexico(If Needed)
- Available for afterhours & weekend breakdowns & service calls
- Maintain proper service on all Hotmelt & Cold Set gluing equipment
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Minimum Qualifications (Education, Certification/ Licenses, and Experience):
- 3-5 years of warehouse experience
- Minimum education: High School or GED, or other related field or equivalent
- Preferred 2 year/Associates Degree and/or Trade School Certificate
- Valid and unrestricted CA Driver's License
- Ability to travel unrestricted to Mexico
General Skills
- Must be a team player and demonstrate the ability to support the efforts of others.
- Must possess a valid unrestricted CA driver's license.
- May be required to travel away from home (overnight) as business dictates
- Must be willing and able to lift 60 lbs.
- Proof of being legally authorized to work in the US
