Nursing - Operating Room

72 hours bi-weekly

Willingness to change job assignment(s) as needed to meet staffing/schedule requirements. Includes call rotation, must be able to respond to call and arrive at facility within 30 minutes.

The registered nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care and teaching through the use of the nursing process. Functions The registered nurse directs and guides the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining the standards of professional nursing and the established policies and procedures of the organization. Must be flexible enough to adjust to staffing changes and needs dictated by patient care requirements. Must be physically able to perform all activities on generic and/or special unit credentialing inventory and as indicated in job description. Practices in regard to accepted Standards of Practice and Ethics. Serves the following age population: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing and hold a current RN licensure from State of Ohio Board of Nursing. Preference is given for previous surgery experience. Must be able to provide nursing care requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of the biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. Will continue to maintain competency by completing a minimum of 24 hours of Continuing Education Credit (CNE) courses within each two-year period, corresponding to license renewal. Certification in related nursing practice is encouraged.
