Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, programming, or a closely related field required; supplemented by three (3) years of technical support experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

The examination will consist of an evaluation of education and experience, accomplished by analysis of the application. The purpose of this classification is to perform duties as the primary technical liaison between the department and the Information Technology (IT) Department. Responsibilities include providing technical services and support to departmental users, and coordinating system configurations for computer hardware and software applications, networks, and personal computers.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Provides technical support services for departmental users: troubleshoots and resolves technical, operational network, and/or customer service problems; takes corrective actions and resolves issues; and seeks assistance from IT department for escalated problems.
Determines technological needs of the department for meetings, hearings, and presentations: obtains required equipment; and sets-up, tests and monitors meeting equipment.
Ensures systems meet needs of departmental offices: conducts research into newer systems on the market; recommends changes and/or enhancements to systems/applications; and verifies compatibility of existing systems with recommendations for change.
Coordinates, configures, tests, and installs technical components of personal computers and software packages; determines technical needs of users; researches and determines efficient technological needs while meeting policy requirements of IT department; and coordinates security requirements for users as directed by IT Department.
Coordinates and troubleshoots the installation and connectivity of network infrastructure and telecommunication data lines.
Maintains inventory and location of personal computers, printers, and servers: maintains documentation for receipt and distribution of equipment.
Creates and maintains logs of problems, requests, and projects.
Coordinates/provides technical training for end users: trains staff on specialized computer applications, hardware, or mobile technology; and develops training materials as needed.
