The Automation Engineer is responsible for designing and testing automation systems for use in our electronics manufacturing facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Exploring and implementing new ways to automate systems
- Designing and testing automation equipment and processes
- Investigate current manual manufacturing processes to see if automated systems make more financial sense.
- Programming new automated components
- Identifying quality issues and writing reports
- Eliminating defects and errors with product and software development
- Writes instruction manuals on how to use and maintain automation equipment
- Train operators, technicians, and engineers on how to use automation equipment
- Assist in the debug and repair of down automation equipment
- Collaborating with other business units
- All other duties as assigned by management to ensure the success of Futaba.
Experience and Educational Requirements :
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar fieldProficiency in maintaining automation equipmentExperience with robotics and automated vision equipmentExperience with project managementSolid understanding of computer programming and software developmentAbility to understand and develop pneumatic and electrical circuitsAbility to troubleshoot equipment and perform complex system testsStrong leadership and problem-solving skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailCreative thinking skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical skillsStrong AutoCAD skillsAbility to communicate well with other staff membersExcellent manual dexterityAbility to keep up with the latest technologiesA desire to continually upgrade technical knowledge5 or more years related experience in designing automation equipment.Intermediate MS Office skills, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook are required.Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements :
